Here at Care Dental Spa, your comfort is one of our highest priorities. We are dedicated to providing you with the most comfortable experience possible by offering sedation dentistry to help you manage anxiety and receive the care you need without any discomfort.
Sedation dentistry is a lifeline for individuals who face dental anxiety, struggle to sit still during lengthy procedures or find it challenging to become sufficiently numb with traditional anesthetics. If any of these scenarios resonate with you, sedation dentistry might be the solution to transform your dental experience.
There are several levels of sedation, and our dentist will discuss your oral health needs, anxiety and treatments with you to determine which type of sedation is right for you. In many cases, only mild sedation will be needed to meet your needs. Rest assured, our dentist and team will monitor you closely throughout your procedure to ensure you remain comfortable.
We offer three main types of dental sedation at our office:
- Nitrous oxide sedation, or “laughing gas,” which works via inhalation. This is often a great option for managing mild to moderate anxiety. It takes effect quickly and wears off quickly, so that you can resume normal activities immediately after leaving our office.
- Oral sedation, which involves the use of oral medication. Simply take your prescribed medication before coming to our office, so that you will feel completely relaxed by the time you begin treatment. If you receive this type of sedation, please have someone available to drive you to and from your appointment.
- IV Sedation, which involves providing the sedative medication intravenously, or directly to your bloodstream. This type of sedation can help you relax quickly and remain comfortable throughout your appointment as you receive your treatment.
